Environmental Weathering UV Accelerated Aging Test Chamber
I. Purpose
This testing machine is used for non-metallic materials, organic materials (such as: paint, paint, rubber, plastics and their products), and inspects the degree of aging of related products and materials under changes in climate conditions such as sunlight, temperature, humidity, and condensation. The types of hazards include: brown, discoloration, loss of gloss, chalking, cracking and blistering, embrittlement, strength decline and oxidation, so as to evaluate the weather resistance of the test product.
II. Principle
Ultraviolet weather resistance test equipment is another kind of light aging test equipment that simulates light. It mainly simulates the ultraviolet light in sunlight, and it can also reproduce the damage caused by rain and dew. The equipment conducts the test by exposing the material to be tested to a controlled alternating cycle of sunlight and moisture while increasing the temperature. The equipment uses ultraviolet fluorescent lamps to simulate sunlight, and it can also simulate the effects of moisture through condensation or spraying.
It only takes a few days or weeks, and the device can reproduce the damage that takes months or years outdoors. The damage caused mainly includes fading, discoloration, decrease in brightness, chalking, cracking, blurring, embrittlement, decrease in strength and oxidation. The test data provided by the equipment is of great help in the selection of new materials, the improvement of existing materials, or the evaluation of composition changes that affect the durability of the product. The equipment can predict very well the changes that the product will encounter outdoors.
Although ultraviolet light (UV) accounts for only 5% of sunlight, it is the main light factor that causes the durability of outdoor products to decrease. This is because the influence of sunlight's photochemical reaction increases as the wavelength decreases. Therefore, when simulating the destructive effect of sunlight on the physical properties of the material, it is not necessary to reproduce the entire sunlight spectrum. In most cases, only short-wave UV light needs to be simulated. The reason why UV lamps are used in UV accelerated weathering testers is that they are more stable than other lamps and can better reproduce test results. It is the best way to use a fluorescent UV lamp to simulate the impact of sunlight on physical properties, such as brightness drop, cracking, and peeling. Because outdoor exposure to humidity can last up to 12 hours a day, the humidity cycle of the UV accelerated weathering tester generally lasts for several hours. We recommend that each condensation cycle lasts at least 4 hours. Note that the UV exposure and condensation in the equipment are performed separately.
III. According to the standard
This instrument complies withGB/T14522-93,GB/T16422.3-1997, GB/T16585-96 ASSTMG154 and other current UV accelerated weathering testing machine standards.
IV. Performance specifications
1. Temperature range: RT+10℃ -70℃
2. Humidity range: ≥75﹪RH
3. Temperature control accuracy: ±3℃
Note: For the performance guarantee of #5 above, the test volume needs to be measured at 1/6 position from each wall surface of the test area, and it needs to be measured after 30 minutes of temperature and humidity stability.
4. Power supply: AC220V 50HZ
