Capillary viscometry is the most accuratemethod for the determinationof the viscosity of liquids witha Newtonian flowing behaviour.The measurement as such consists ina time measurement. The time measured is that whicha specific quantity of liquid requires to pass througha capillary having a defined widthand length. Conventionally, this processis watched with the humaneye,and the flow time is measured manually using a stop watch.
In the caseofthe UVS MD Viscosity Measuring Device, the liquid meniscus is captured on the measurement planes, either inanoptoelectronic mannerby means of light barriers, or else ona thermo-resistant basis by thermistors.
