Masks to choose

1. Choose the appropriate mask type

(1) Medical protective masks should be the first choice for medical workers, and ordinary gauze masks should be the first choice for ordinary citizens in their daily life. In special occasions, such as medical treatment and visiting patients, the general public had better also use medical masks.

(2) The materials used in the mask should have no peculiar smell and be harmless to human body, especially the materials that touch the face of human body, and should be non-irritating and allergic.

2. Choose a qualified mask

When choosing a mask, it is necessary to see whether the name of the product is on the package, whether the manufacturer or the supplier has information, whether the mask has a certificate or the use instructions. Disposable masks should also be labeled as disposable, and reusable medical protective masks should be labeled with sterilization methods. In general, ordinary gauze masks should be marked as normal or sterile.

3, the choice of regular manufacturers

To prevent influenza, we mostly choose ordinary gauze masks or medical protective masks, so we need to buy them from legitimate medical shops or manufacturers with hygiene licenses or medical device registration certificates.

4. Choose a mask and don't forget to check the appearance

This is a problem that we tend to overlook when choosing masks. First of all, we should check whether the packaging of masks is complete and damaged. No holes or stains on the surface of the mask. There should be no exhalation valve for medical protective masks. For the close-fitting arched mask, the transverse diameter should not be less than 14cm, and the longitudinal diameter should not be less than 14cm; The length and width of a rectangular medical protective mask shall be no less than 17cm; The length and width of a normal gauze mask should not be less than 17cm and 13cm after spread, and the number of layers should not be less than 12. It is also important to note that if you choose a surgical mask, it must be fitted with a nose clip. The nose clip is made of flexible material that can be bent, and its length is no less than 8.5cm.

PRECAUTIONS FOR WEARING MASKS

1.Wash hands before wearing the mask.

2.Before removing the mask keep your hands clean and do not touch the inside so as not to contaminate the mask with bacteria on your hands.

3.Change the mask every 24 hours.

4.After wearing the mask, it can be sterilised with high temperature disinfection.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

1.Open the mask using both hands on the ear straps with the nose bridge facing upwards without touching the inside of the mask. 

2.Put the mask on your face using the ear straps to cover your mouth and nose with the bottom of the mask against your chin.

3.Pull the ear straps over the ears and adjust the ear straps to make a comfortable fit.

4.Place the fingers tips of both hands on either side of the nose bridge. Mould the nose piece to the shape of your nose by pushing inwards and moving your fingertips down both sides of the nose piece. Pinching the nose piece with one hａnd can result in an imperfect fit reducing the masks performance.

5.Perform a user to mask fit seal check prior to entering the work area. Place both hands over the mask and inhale sharply. Be careful not to disturb the position of the mask. A negative pressure should be felt inside the mask. If there is an air leak around the nose, adjust the nose piece position as described in step 4. If no leakage, then enter the work area.
