Accurate to approximately 1°, it is popular for both academic and industrial use. At the college and secondary school level, it is used for numerous experiments, including studies of rotation of sugars, mutarotations, concentration of solutions and many others.

 In industry, the Glas-Col VERTICAL POLARIMETER is ideal for making quick rough checks on sugars, pharmaceuticals and other optically active substances.Two models are available- front-lighted or side-lighted. Either one can be used with the Glas-Col lamp or other high intensity lamps.
